Public land survey field notes, 1832-1866.

Original field note books created during the federal General Land Office survey of the State of Wisconsin during the mid-1800's. Series includes both exterior township lines and interior section lines, and data on length of survey lines, features encountered, and general description of lines and townships. Records are used by surveyors in retracing original property boundaries and by researchers in pre-settlement landscape studies.
